Itinerary

Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Hanoi, escaping the city’s bustle via quiet backroads along the Red River. Ride through the peaceful countryside and the gentle plateau hills of Phù Yên, where mustard flowers bloom in November, painting the fields with golden hues. This first day includes some light off-road sections, giving a taste of the adventure to come. In the evening, enjoy a warm local welcome and dinner before resting for the journey ahead.

Today’s ride takes you along the epic Dinosaur Back, winding through Trạm Tấu, and venturing onto off-road and backroad trails that showcase the northern highlands in all their glory. Stop for panoramic views of terraced rice fields before crossing the famous Khau Phạ Pass, one of Vietnam’s Four Great Passes. Continue to La Pán Tẩn and Mu Cang Chai, riding through the heart of the region’s iconic terraces, framed by mountains and lush valleys. This is a day for challenging curves, breathtaking scenery, and pure riding joy.

Leaving the terraces behind, today we’ll ride over the legendary O Quy Ho Pass, the gateway to Sapa, with its stunning views over Fansipan and the surrounding Hoàng Liên Son mountains. Descend into the misty valley of Sapa, a town renowned for its rugged beauty and rich cultural diversity. Explore local villages, interact with H’mong, Dao, and Tay communities, and soak in the atmosphere of this highland gem. The combination of mountain riding, village visits, and panoramic views makes this a highlight of the tour.

From Sapa, we journey to Bac Ha, passing through Si Ma Cai along roads hugging the China border. The ride offers majestic views of terraced fields, deep valleys, and misty peaks. In Bac Ha, explore the vibrant Sunday market (or daily market depending on the day), where ethnic minorities such as H’mong, Tay, and Dao showcase their brocade, jewelry, and traditional crafts. Sample local delicacies and experience the unique mountain culture of Northern Vietnam. This day blends cultural immersion with scenic riding, making it unforgettable.

Leaving Bac Ha, we ride along scenic backroads through Xin Man and Hoàng Su Phì, home to some of the most remote and untouched landscapes of Ha Giang Province. The winding mountain roads reveal hidden villages, colorful ethnic culture, and lush greenery. Stop for lunch in a local village and capture photos of terraced fields and mountain vistas before arriving in Ha Giang city, the gateway to Vietnam’s wild frontier. Today’s ride is a perfect mix of off-road adventure and cultural discovery.

From Ha Giang, we ride along secret mountain trails near the China border, weaving through H’mong villages, corn terraces, and dramatic limestone ridges. The route features thrilling off-road sections, rocky climbs, and panoramic viewpoints over misty valleys. Every turn reveals a new world of rugged beauty and remote highland life. Arrive in Dong Van in the late afternoon, with time to explore the ancient town and enjoy its timeless architecture.

The day begins with the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking mountain roads. Below, the emerald Nho Que River cuts through towering limestone peaks, creating a dramatic canyon. We follow winding border trails past ethnic villages and remote ridgelines. Stop at Khau Vai, known for its famous love market, and soak in the cultural richness of the region. Continue through hidden paths before arriving in Bao Lac, a peaceful mountain town surrounded by forested peaks.

Today is a true off-road adventure through Northern Vietnam’s wild heart. Ride along narrow trails through rice terraces and forests, cross small rivers via bamboo bridges, and pass Tay ethnic villages. Arrive at Ba Bể National Park and explore Puông Cave, a limestone cave with a river running through its heart. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing boat trip on Ba Bể Lake, taking in emerald waters, tranquil islands, and lush jungle. This day is perfect for immersing yourself in nature, culture, and authentic highland life.
