Itinerary

After meeting your guide, we ride west out of Hanoi toward Hoa Binh. The journey quickly leaves the city behind and enters a world of limestone mountains and quiet village backroads. Small mountain roads lead us to the Black River, offering stunning open views of valleys and green rice terraces.

In the afternoon, we enter the forest trails, carving our way into the peaceful Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Tonight you stay in a traditional stilt house, surrounded by bamboo forests and rice fields — a perfect first escape into the mountains.

A full day of dirt riding awaits. We navigate singletrack paths and steep trails through remote Hmong villages, where locals in colorful traditional dress still live their daily life unchanged for generations.

The Hang Kia – Pà Cò ridge offers one of the best off-road sections in Northern Vietnam, with epic views and endless mountain lines. During flower season, the scenery becomes dreamy and unforgettable.

Leaving Moc Chau, we ride deeper into the Northwest highlands. Off-road trails continue to challenge you with steep climbs, rocky paths, and panoramic valley views. High cliffs, plum forests, and quiet tribal settlements make today one of the most scenic riding days.

Ngọc Chiến welcomes us with its peaceful village atmosphere and natural hot springs — perfect to relax after a long day on the bike.

Today’s ride is completely different — the Kingdom of Rice Terraces awaits.

We ride through:

  • Mu Cang Chai world-renowned terraced fields
  • Khau Pha Pass – one of Vietnam’s four legendary passes
  • Nghia Lo valley for lunch
  • Tram Tau & Ta Xua regions, home of mountain tribes and rugged ridgelines

The landscapes today are a masterpiece of nature: golden terraces, deep valleys, winding passes, and ethnic villages scattered across the hillsides. We often meet local farmers working on their fields or carrying bamboo baskets to the market.

In the late afternoon, we’ll climb up to Ta Xua — a mythical off-road playground famous for its cloud ocean and knife-edge ridge trails.

Accommodation: Guesthouse / Homestay

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Your final day still delivers the spirit of true adventure. We start the morning riding above the clouds of Ta Xua — a surreal experience where the ridge lines float like islands in the sky. It’s the kind of moment every off-road rider remembers for years.

As we descend from the mountains, the terrain eases into flowing backroads and quiet countryside tracks. Passing villages, tea hills, and the Red River valley, the landscape gently guides us toward Hanoi.

Rolling back into the city marks the completion of a perfect 5 Days – Northwest Extreme Off-Road — challenging, wild, and absolutely unforgettable.
